When we say we’re passionate about pets, those aren’t just words. Trusty Tails has been locally owned and operated since 2006 but our team members are well established in this area and are proud to call Jersey City our home. Our clients become our family…………oh yeah, and we like their humans too. And because you’re our family, let us show you some great spots to explore with your pooch this summer. Luckily, there are tons of great dog-friendly spots to have some fun summer adventures.
If you’re out for a morning walk, head over to Jersey Avenue and stop by Wonder Bagels. With their pet-friendly patio and awesome breakfast menu, you’ll both be happy. You can start your day off with one of their famous made from scratch bagels while your dog can bask in some sunshine in their outside seating. You’ll both be sure to start your day off on the right foot, and paw.
Next, why not venture to one of Jersey City’s beautiful and pet-friendly parks. You can both get some exercise and take in the sights. With a gazebo, playgrounds, splash park and dog park, Van Vorst Park is truly a one-stop shop the whole family can enjoy. Located in Historic Downtown this is a perfect site for a fun-filled family day. If you and your furry friend are more city people, head over to Riverview Park. This park offers spectacular city views, basketball courts, and farmers markets during the summer months. If you consider yourself a more intelligent breed, you’ll love Liberty State Park. With lots of historical monuments, the Liberty Science Center and ferries to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island this historical location will be sure to build any history buff’s muscles. This park also has bike paths, walking paths and barbeque facilities for a complete day of leisure.
If all that park hopping made you hungry, you can head over to one of several pet-friendly lunch and dinner spots. Ed & Mary’s is a perfect location if you want a variety of menu choices and an outdoor seating option. Formerly known as 9th & Cole’s Tavern, this has been a local favorite for years. Rumor has it, you can even order some grilled chicken just for your pup. If you’re looking for food with quality ingredients that are locally sourced you should check out Square 1 Community Eatery. Located on St. Paul’s Ave you’ll enjoy the food and your pet will enjoy the dog-friendly patio. Looking for a little more adult fun? Departed Soles Brewing Co. on Bay Street might be just the place for you. With a dog-friendly patio, locally brewed and gluten-free beer options are sure to be a great ending to your summer nights.
And, as always, if you decide that you’d like to do some things just for humans, Trusty Tails is here to take care of your pets while you’re gone.
